Rachel Gives 'Morning Joe' a Maddow-izing
Rachel Maddow just had a birthday on April first! Here is a great clip of her giving former Florida Congressman Joe Scarborough a proper working over on MSNBC's program "Verdict with Dan Abrams." (Formerly "Live with Dan Abrams".)
Barack Obama was on "Hardball" the other day, in case you missed it. [ 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 ] (After all of that endeless advertising, I completely forgotten about it.)
I also found a clip of Mika Brzezinski trying to make a humorous point about worthless celebrity news stories by tearing up the script for a Paris Hilton story, only to be upstaged by the childish prattling of her boss "Morning Joe" Scarborough.
(You know who Joe Scarborough is, right? He the Former Republican Congressman who had to leave office because one of his attractive young aides, Lori Klausutis, was foundmurdered dead in his office under extremely suspicious circumstances. [ 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 ] Now you can watch his hilarious antics on MSNBC!)

I wish someone would give Rachel Maddow her own show, she's awesome.
She's awesome, now if only dumbdumb there would shut up and let her speak without interupting every few seconds.
It's not quite her own show, but Rach will be subbing for Keith Olbermann tonight, hosting "Countdown" (8pm ET/5pm PT).
scarborough is the world's biggest ass -- well there a lot that compete for that title
and mika is like charlie mccarthy to his edgar bergen. or maybe mortimer snerd -- she used to have a spine, now she is just a mouth piece
and willie geist -- what's up with him -- just because his dad is bill geist.
Scarborough is a former member of the House of Representatives, not the Senate. No need to inflate his ego any further.
I didn't know about Lori Klausutis. Thanks for opening my eyes to this. Hopefully, her family will get some resolution to this soon - it's obvious that foul play is involved.
I saw you on TV last night.
You were rockin' the leather vest.
CDP: Me too! There were rumors when they go rid of Tucker... but they gave the job to that grey haired Republican guy.
Liberality: I know! He is such am major moron. He came off as an idiot in this exchange.
starshiptim: Yay! She will work her way into the big time.
Distributorcap: I really nothing about Mika, but she sure seems to hate her job. I don't even know who Bill Geist is!
Dr. Monkerstein: Ack! You're right! I knew that, I don't know what I was thinking. Thanks for the correction!
Dave The Angry Rhode Islander: I bring that up everytime I write anything about Joe Scarborough. The story is very sordid.
Übermilf: Why thank you! I am quite the simian fashion plate, aren't I? ;o)
Oh, wow. I've always come to expect Rachel to kick butt whenever she's given a chance to speak in forums like this, but I have to defer my high praise to Mika Brzezinski. Finally, finally, finally we have a real journalist stand up, live on television, and say, "This is not news." I feel sorry for Joe Scarborough. I think he's pathologically incapable of realizing what a joke he really is.
Also, maybe you guys were just being ironic, but in case you really don't know, Rachel Maddow /does/ have her own show on Air America Radio (http://www.airamerica.com/maddow) which can be heard on the 'net stream if you don't have a local affiliate that carries it.
Rachel did a great job on Countdown last night. So far, I've appreciated her counterpoint to Joe's rightwing nonsense on David Gregory's new 6pm show on MSNBC. Though, I must say, Gregory doesn't always give Rachel fair time. Or so it seems to me, but I'm quite partial.
Good stuff, Dr. Z. She's a sharp one.
Rachel is an up and coming star in the line up. I just pray that she maintains her objectivity better than say Keith Olbermann when she does break through. He was okay in the beginning but he has been insufferable to watch in the last 4 months when he climbed aboard the Obama bandwagon and did a "special comments" bit against Hillary and Ferrarro. He went way over the line and his ego has gotten too big for my screen.
chaos4700: What was pathetic about that clip was how ridiculous Joe Scarborough and little monkey were acting. I have listened to Rachel Maddow Air America Radio, but it would be great if she got her own show on TV!
DCup: I missed her on Countdown. :o( David Gregory has turned out to be just another GOP shill, in opinion.
Batocchio: She may be sharp, but Joe Scarborough is the one with a poiny head!
Pat Johnson: I would agree that Olbermann seems to favor Obama, but on the other hand I have heard the argument that the media is being unfair to the Clinton by pointing out all of the negative coverage they have gotten. A lot of the negative coverage that they have garnered was negative because they brought it on themselves. And Ferrarro was wrong to say what she did, plain and simple.
scarborough... didn't he kill somebody?
Rachel is wonderful. gotta lover her
Perhaps. Scarborough had to leave office because one of his attractive young aides, Lori Klausutis, was found dead in his office under extremely suspicious circumstances.
