Parodies of Star Wars and Star Trek on YouTube
We all know that some of the most important things about science fiction is that it makes you question your beliefs, it gives you a sense of wonder, it lets you enter into worlds that are beyond the realm of our ordinary understanding of the universe. Of course the most important thing about science fiction is Slave Leia! [ 2 | 3 ]
But I digress, this post is really all about some of the great fan humor that has been done about Star Trek and Star Wars. My favorites are "Star Trek and the Holy Grail", "Monty Python - Black Knight (Star Wars)", and "Grocery Store Wars (Veggie Wars)", which has an important message about genetically modified foods. Somehow, you haven't really lived life to it's fullest potential until you have seen Luck Skywalker played by a cucumber.
"What really happened after the Deathstar blew up" gives new insight into the inner workings of the Empire's upper management, and the Star Trek 2.0 series from Adult Swim shows you a side of the Star Trek characters that you have never seen before. The best of those clips is "Star Trek Cribs - The Director's Cut", in which Spock shows you his cool pad where "he chills, he relaxes, he chill-axs."
Gosh, I can still fondly remember the day when science fiction was really all about Yeoman Rand. Oh, Janice!

Ha! When she got all soft focus and the music swelled, my little science fiction heart went pit-a-pat, and made me want to show her my tricorder readings!
Evil Spock loves Robot Chicken's Death Star kit. You know their doing a whole ep dedicated to Star Wars on June 16th. George Lucas approved no less!
I'll have to watch that!
