Modeling For Haiti Relief

Am I the only one that finds this odd? I really don't know anything about Naomi Campbell, and from what I could gather from Don Lemon's CNN interview with her she seemed genuinely concerned about the children in Haiti, but I felt that there was something jarring about watching a news story about "Modeling For Haiti Relief".

All of the images were of either Naomi Campbell or of models on a runway wearing clothes that would later be sold for Haiti Relief.

you mean there is such a thing as bad publicity? Even if it is won on the backs of human suffering and death?

I gotta say, those dresses suck. Even If I were that size, I wouldnt be caught dead in those tacky rags.

Thos outfits look like the worst of Punk come back to haunt us. All that's missing is a hot pink power suit and royal blue mascarra.

If I were a Hatian, I would be insulted.

Once in London, I watched Naomi have a temper tantrum at Harvey Nic's, the fashion store. It was at the bar on the top floor, of course.

Great fun. She's a real humanitarian.

Tengrain

Michael Jackson will be pleased that his red dress went to a good cause.

If my country just got fucked up, I wouldn't care if the loot came from the sold dresses of talentless runway models, T-Mobile texts or CIA-sponsored crack sales.

Point taken Randall, but that being said, those are fugly dresses. Pretentious designers aside, not every piece is a masterpiece.

Clearly the picture above exemplifies this unfortunate truth.

So is Naomi Cambell going to school to be a veteranarian because she loves Children?

Well until the ubermodels start passionately kissing each other on TV, I say they are not really committed to helping those in Haiti.

That would make as much sense as what they are currently doing, which is using a tragedy to get their names in the press.

Seeing Eye Chick: I actually find a girl in a hot pink power suit and royal blue mascara attractive! Although it doesn't hold a candle to a mini-skirt and go go boots. ;o)

Tengrain: Ha! I wish I had seen it. I knew her charitable demeanor was too good to be true. ;o)

Teresita: If we can't bring Michael Jackson back from the grave, at least we can resurrect his fashions! ;o)

OKJimm: Ha! That's very true. ;o)

Randal Graves: True, money is money. I still found it kind of disturbing to watch, however. ;o)

Seeing Eye Chick: "So is Naomi Campbell going to school to be a veterinarian because she loves Children?"

Ha! That's a line from the Earth Girls are Easy song, "'Cause I'm a Blonde"! ;o)

wok3: Yes, that's what I thought! They are just using a tragedy to get their names in the press. ;o)

For those unfamiliar with Naomi: she's a Brit fashion model best known for her cocaine addiction, anger management issues, and the use of the cell phone as an almost lethal weapon. She's been known to hit her target at a range of 25 feet!
