Shirley Manson is not from around these parts, but the rest of Garbage are hometown boys.

Right before the Garbage single for the Bond movie (The World is Not Enough) I ran into Duke Erikson at the old Bucks Bar in Madison. I teased him that since they were going to be releasing a Bond single they could one day hope to be big like Duran Duran.

To further brag on the homies - they used to be a local band called Spooner. I saw them a couple of times as an underage kid in the bars. (The drinking age was 18 then - not so shocking)

Jess Wundrun: Wow! You actually know the band! Color me very impressed. Very, very cool. That is a pretty funny joke, the Duran Duran bit. Kind of cruel, though! Can you get me Shirley Manson's autograph? I am glad you are no longer tempted to commit any more underage drinking.

Dr Z! You've done it again. You ability to spot band and singers that I like is uncanny. Of course us being both non-humans might have something to do with it.
