It really doesn't matter what she said. I'm personally against the bailout package.

Though the failure of the package made her look weak, what she said is hardly enough to make people change their votes in protest. That's just spin.

That was it!? I heard that she gave a "partisan" speech that alienated some GOP reps...she did a little Bush-bashing at the start, and some school marm-ish lecturing of corporate types...but jeez. I expected so much more.

Comrade Kevin, for once I disagree with you. Listen to the speech before you harden your heart against her. Yes, I too have been pissed at Pelosi for not supporting Impeachment Proceedings to make it through the House. But this time she's right. I went to Crooks and Liars and stole this clip. Come listen.

Thanks Dr.Z, I followed your link and stole what I found there.

I thought it was the round of wedgies she gave them that made them cry?

Yeah, Republicans accusing Democrats of turning the whole process around this bailout into a partisan pony show. That's -- ooh... ow... hang on a sec, I just got an irony headache. Kind of like what you get when you eat ice cream too fast. Ow.

Incidentally, I'm not a big fan of the bailout over here either. At least, not without trying to float some Democratic bread and butter through the vote while they have their first chance in over a decade. Well, first pretext of a chance, anyway.

I find it vaguely comical that Pelosi and Obama bend over backwards to cater to the Republicans for a "compromise," and in the meantime ignore completely the Progressive corners of their own party. I guess old habits die hard.

Right now the Democrats are making ME cry. We live in a damned kleptocracy.

Quick Dean, buy gold. Buy canned goods, bottled water. I have a bunker, you bring the goodies.

Comrade Kevin: I think that Pelosi gets a lot of undeserved bad press. I'm not sure what we should do about the bailout package. I sure don't like the sound of it, though.

Bubs: Republicans are such delicate flowers, though. :o) Wallflowers!

Utah Savage: Yay! I like Nancy Pelosi. I think that she gets a raw deal in the press.

MWB: I would have paid to see that! Maybe they will put it on PPV....

chaos4700: Ha! An irony headache! What a great concept... There is a post there somewhere...

Dean Wormer: I am not sure what to make of it either...

Utah Savage: Jeepers! I hope that it isn't as bad as all that! I had better stock up on chocolate cake...
