Ling Ling Said It Best

Rusty DePass, a prominent S.C. Republican Party activist, longtime SCGOP activist and former State Senate candidate posted a highly-questionable comment on an innocuous Facebook update about the escape of a Western Lowlands Gorilla from Columbia's Riverbanks Zoo. Pam's House Blend

One of the benefits of Facebook and Twitter is that there are loads of not-really tech savvy types using them now. As a result, people now get to see the kinds of offhand racist and mean-spirited comments that people like DePass have always made to their buddies.

I'm not sure Dian Fossey would have considered that an insult and nor do I. Understanding the hatred and ignorance spewing from Rusty makes it obvious he has a lot of incarnations to travel to get anywhere close.

I agree with Bubs.

What a complete and utter tool. This is disgusting. I wonder how the GOP will react to this racism as opposed to the kind they accuse of Sotomayor of having? You know the real kind displayed by this man on Twitter as opposed to the imaginary kind of Sotomayor...

Probably he's close kin to Strom Thurmond. You know those South Carolina racists.

At first glance I thought he meant Ms. Malkin. I'm not sure what that says about me.

That is so disgusting. These twittering politicians must either just not care whether people know they are racists, or else they don't realize that everyone can read their tweets!

So now explain to me the concept of necessary racism. I think it is the word unnecessary that was unnecessary. (Or maybe Ling Ling himself is an example of necessary racism). And for Dr. Zaius, is it racism to compare Michelle to a Gorilla or to compare a Gorilla to Michelle? Huh?

I saw a news blurb on that today. Amazing. Like Bubs said, Twitter, etc. will give these guys the rope with which to hang themselves.

The guy's obviously still bitter that his inbred parents named him after the family dog.

Bubs: Ha! We shall hoist them on their own Twitter petard! (Twitard?)

Susan: I know what you mean. You should see what simian anthropologists would say about certain comments from some of our former politicians in Ape City!

Seeing Eye Chick: I know. The neverending firehose of inane blathering.

Zirgar: If the GOP didn't have double standards, they would have no standards at all.

Comrade Kevin: Perhpas you'r right! As opposed to those Washington D.C. racists.

Spocko: I didn't catch it. Pam's House Blend did!

GOPnot4me: Or Ms. Malkin, for that matter. ;o)

Mauigirl: I think that they think any fallout they get from the left will not matter, what they want is praise from the Republican base.

Darwin's Dagger: I think that the phrase means that no racism is necessary. But it's a cartoon! Who knows.

Johnny Yen: I say we bring them more rope!

daveawayfromhome: He probably is. What a moron!

Randal Graves: An insult to the family dog, as we can see. ;o)
