Turner Classic Movies ran the film "A Thousand Clowns" last night. This is one of my all time favorite movies. This is a review of the film that I wrote.

Testify Brother Zaius!
I haven't seen it in years, but every time I have seen it, I always think what a great movie it is.
Then for some reason I forget about it.
TCM is the one of the chief reasons I miss cable. It's pricey out here...
I loved that movie.
MWB's World: I love this movie, too. It's a remarkable film.
Batocchio: I know what you mean. I went without cable for about a year and a half recently. I just watched videotapes once in while... No I have to have TCM and the Keith Olbermann, though.
Dr. Monkerstein: Yay! Me too. It's a remarkable film.
Oh man, I loved that movie-- I'd watch it every time it was on television.
It hasn't been released on dvd yet, but for a while you could stream it on Netflix.
I read an interview with Robards, where he discussed his alcoholism, and pointed out that they had to film a lot of scenes several times and pick out the one where he appeared the least intoxicated.
It's sad about Robard's life. Still, it was really the script that made the film great. I think Walter Matheau played the role on Broadway at one point. I would have liked to have seen that.
