Mowing the Lawn

No time for blogging today! I am busy in the Zen Room with Germaine Gregarious "talking to Samson." In the meantime you can watch these swell videos! I've got the trailer for "Sinderella and the Golden Bra", and Kiddie A-Go-Go's "Stop and Go-Go" game, to the tune of Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots Are Made For Walking".

This video of Kiddie A-Go-Go (which has a sadly more salubrious tone to it in 2008 than it did in 1966)is what I wished for my own 9 year old life in that era.

Actually my memory is driven to my third grade reading class, so I was 8. It was winter 1966.

I had bronchitis and for a get-well gift I got a pair of white go-go boots. How I loved them.

So here I was in my advanced reading class (I sucked at math but reading- now that was my subject) and I got in trouble for staring at my own boots too much.

I have a sad feeling this story has amused no one, save my girl Germaine Gregarious who might actually understand, despite her being much younger.

And in fact, it may be scaring some of you.

We're not scared, we just never had a pair of go-go boots. Do funky sneakers count? Now, pass that magic, please.

Somebody help.

Darling Franiam! You got me, I do love your go-go boots story.

Aren't we all 23 in our hearts?

What did that lady say? "Do the Monkey, the Freddy, the Jerk or the Swing?"

Sounds like the lineup for Campaign 2008. Perhaps we need an Ape and a Lez dance?

Fran, I had a boot fixation from about the age of 6 when my oldest sister had a pair (1970-something). I didn't get my glorious nearly-knee-high boots until I was 30, but damn, I swagger when I wear them. I just try not to get caught staring at my own shoes.

FranIAm: I love go go boots! I think that if I had been there, I would have gotten in trouble for staring at your go go boots too much as well.

"Get-well gift"? When I was a kid, my "get-well gift" was the school would send my homework home with my brother.

Randal Graves: I always wanted a pair of checkered vans like spicoli.

Übermilf: You are feeling mayonaise? Don't play with your food! Make tuna salad instead.

Germaine Gregarious: I'll dance with you and your delightful go go boots any day of the week, my dear!

Kimono Hime: Yowsa! I want to see pictures of your go go boot swagger!
