Panetta and the CIA Deceived Congress for Years
"The director of the Central Intelligence Agency, Leon E. Panetta, has told the House Intelligence Committee in closed-door testimony that the C.I.A. concealed 'significant actions' from Congress from 2001 until late last month, seven Democratic committee members said."
"In a June 26 letter to Mr. Panetta discussing his testimony, Democrats said that the agency had 'misled members' of Congress for eight years about the classified matters, which the letter did not disclose. 'This is similar to other deceptions of which we are aware from other recent periods,' said the letter, made public late Wednesday by Representative Rush D. Holt, Democrat of New Jersey, one of the signers."
"In an interview, Mr. Holt declined to reveal the nature of the C.I.A.’s alleged deceptions,. But he said, 'We wouldn’t be doing this over a trivial matter.'"

Nice to see Nancy getting a break from the lies and slander for once. I really hope we do get health care for all American citizens too--that way my son and daughter, who can't afford health care, let alone dental and eye care, will finally be covered.
Well, but Panetta isn't the bad guy here, is he? I mean, most of that lying and withholding took place under (surprise!) Chimpy and his CIA minions.
Will there be prosecutions? Wasn't the CIA betraying its mission by not revealing this sensitive information (whatever it was) to the legislative branch so they could do something about it?
Or am I just being naive?
Panettea didn't deceive the Congress for years, he's only been CIA chief for a few months.
We were, almost all, naive and easily deceived. Even those who questioned were left with a Hobson's choice.
Hell yes there will be prosecutions. It won't be the perpetrators though. Just enough fodder to derail the rabble from storming the castle.
Unfortunately, we're still looking to the skies for the Justice League to save the day.
Too Big To Fail? you ain't seen nothin' yet.
WOW. Screw that fancy CIA mumbo jumbo--would you look at how hot Nancy Pelosi is! She's got a body Linda Carter would die for!
I still do not get what's the point of an invisible plane if it doesn't make the pilot invisible too.
And couldn't Wonder Woman fly all by herself anyway?
I'm happy that Cindy Sheehan didn't beat Pelosi. I just don't think Sheehan's got the thighs for the Wonder Woman suit.
Tremble at the depth of my deep thinky thoughts!
If a rival companies can have this kind of deliberate desire to confuse and stonewall the other in the private sector all the time, then it stands to reason that this is true for government agencies as well.
Liberality: If Obama is able to pass a bill that creates affordable healthcare for all Americans, that alone would be worth the price of that crazy election.
Dguzman: Yes, I know. I had to have a specific villain for the visual gag to work, though. I doubt that anyone will actually be prosecuted, but there will no doubt be lots of pundit fodder, however.
Dr. Monkerstein: Yes, I know. But you need a specific villian for the visual joke to work.
Rehctaw: I hope that the Justice League saves the day! The X-Men and the Mystery Men too.
Zirgar: Ha! I think that there is definitely some truth in that statement!
That Face!: You don't understand. It's an invisible plane. (It must be something of a hazard when parked, however.)
Jess Wundrun: Ha! I think that your wading pool is deeper than my wading pool. ;o)
Comrade Kevin: Yes, humans are indeed more concerned with destroying their rivals than creating a better world for all concerned.
If I had an invisible plane, I'd ask for my money back. Everyone can see me!
