Giant Killer Bunnnies!
No time for blogging today! Germaine Gregarious and I are busy finalizing our recent purchase of some giant killer bunnnies! (Boy are they hungry, and you would not believe what they did to the sofa!) In the meantime, you can watch these swell giant killer bunny video clips from the documentary film, "The Night of the Lepus"!

The day Night of the Lepus came out on DVD was one of the great moments of my life. It is truly one of the most awful movies ever made-- amazingly awful, to the point of entertainment. Up there with the Marjoe Gortner shitfest "Food of the Gods," which shares a "science gone bad results in huge animals" theme. We still wait in vain for a "Food of the Gods" dvd release (though the sequel, cleverly entitled "Food of the Gods II," was, for some reason, released.)
I stand corrected-- I just checked and discovered that Food of the Gods is indeed at last available on DVD. That leaves only the 1978 clunker "Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park" on my craptastic movies I can't wait to get on DVD.
I'll get this and tell my girls it's an Easter movie.
so what's up doc (z)?
johnny yen stole my thunder. What a HORRIBLE and entertaining movie! When those rabbits run - sorry, johnny u. - well, you really do feel like a Playmobile figure about to get trampled.
Only the Germans would put that much energy into Night of the Lepus
Bunnies! Does Night of the Lepus have a haunting musical number like Squirm? I don't recall the theme song.
Holy Grail was better, but that goes without saying.
Mwah to Ubermilf's comment! Motherhood, psychological warfare at it's most relentless.
Have you seen the movie "Ants" that was filmed down here in Florida. I'll put that god awful movie up against this one for worst ever movie.
PoP,
Do you mean this?
Truly, craptastic!
I was going to ask if you remembered Empire of the Ants. That was a great one--Joan Collins was in it!
Niblet wants me to rent Lepus....
Johnny Yen: I've seen "Food of the Gods" - it is indeed incredibly awful. Marjoe Gortner should be made president of all that is foul! It's too bad the job is already taken by Dick Cheney. I have never heard of "Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park", but now that I've read about it I can't wait to see it! Robotic doppelgänger Kiss members! And best of all, they all had super powers!
"To reinforce the idea of Kiss as superheroes, each member of the group was given superpowers in keeping with the theme of their characters—Gene Simmons (the Demon) could breathe fire and had super strength; Paul Stanley (the Starchild) emitted a beam from his eye that could control minds and allow him to hear "faraway" conversations; Ace Frehley (Space Ace) could teleport himself and the group and shoot laser beams from his hands; Peter Criss (the Catman) had super agility, could leap great distances and possessed the amazing ability to make cat-related puns."
Ha! I want to see that!
Übermilf: Indeed! Revenge of the Eater Bunny! Rabbits gone wild!
Distributorcap: I think that Bugs would approve of this film. Even if it played in Albuquerque!
Randal Graves: The excellent special effects are heighted by the magnificent acting abilities of the giant killer rabbit actors! This film should have won an Oscar.
Darwin's Dagger: Ha! If only Chuck Heston had been in this film! It's too late now - the killer bunnies are already in your living room!
Swinebread: I wish that I knew what they are saying. The clip looks pretty funny!
MWB's World: The music was as good as the special effects! Trust me on this!
Kimono Hime: Bah! Everyone is a critic!
CDP: If you can't scare the crap out of your kids with giant killer bunnies, who can you scare the crap out of?
Pissed Off Patricia: I've never seen "Empire of the Ants" - now that I've read about it, I going to look it up! Thanks. (I thought that you meant "Them" until Spirula kindly provided the link!)
Spirula: Good call, Spirula!
Dguzman: Eek! Joan Collins is scarier than any giant ant! Please rent "Night of the Lepus" for Niblet.
Wow, I haven't seen that movie in years - and only once since it originally aired. I can't beleive I missed it.
I love this movie! Giant killer bunnies, unite!
Bunnies don't have to be giant to be bloodthirsty.
As a reminder: one normal rabbit took out a whole company of King Arthur's men.
That rabbit's dynamite!
Dean Wormer: Indeed! Fear the bunnies! They are coming for you!
Dguzman: I like them when they leap and attack in slow motion! It's so realistic!
